Disney World 50th Anniversary Changes & Beyond By 2021
Disney World 50th Anniversary Changes & Beyond By 2021 Walt Disney.
DisneyWorld Orlando, Florida is turning 50 in 2021.
Can you believe this Most Magical Place on Earth is 50 years old?
With everything going on in the world right now, planning can be a little difficult, however, I wanted to share some of the updates, new rides, new features, new shows, and lots more to come in 2021 and beyond. There are some really fantastic things to look forward to and I really cannot wait to get back into the parks.
The 50th celebrations for Disney are going to be spread across all 4 theme parks and areas created to celebrate different things like culture, cuisine, architecture, and traditions along with the new rides and attractions it sounds amazing. So below I have picked out a few things to whet the appetite a little.
With new rides like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad (Opened 2020), Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (Opening Summer 2021), Tron Light Cycle Run (Opening 2021) and the near-complete overhaul of Epcot it is quite an expansive change and knowing where to start is well challenging. So I think, seeing as it’s probably got the most changes coming then I will start with Epcot.
The main changes to Epcot will see the park set out into four neighborhoods World Showcase (remains), World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature.
The United Kingdom Pavilion will be the first attraction inspired by Mary Poppins, step down Cherry Tree Lane and enter number 17, The Bank’s House to start your adventure.

2020 will see the end of the limited-time run of “Epcot Forever” and the largest night-time spectacular ever created will begin, “HarmonioUS” is to debut and amaze all around the World Showcase Lagoon and bring the family of people together as one.
France sees the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in 2021 and an amazing-looking new restaurant Le Creperie de Paris offering table service and quick service menus for celebrity Chef Jerome Bocuse.
With lots of new shows and changes throughout Epcot it really is going to feel like a new park. The new update includes a complete overhaul and re-imagined Spaceship Earth, this iconic ball building will still be a focal point of the park but there is to be a new pavilion near the entrance to the park is set to be 3 levels high with a Plaza level an Expo level and a Park level on the roof. There’s a new view of World Showcase coming at Dreamer’s Point as you exit Spaceship Earth.
Space and exploration are big themes throughout Disney and World Discovery at Epcot is no exception. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic rewind will be the first otherworld pavilion with the planetarium “Galaxarium” at the center, a storytelling 360-degree coaster, and the first Disney coaster to feature a reverse launch.
The Mission Space Pavilion is expanded to include Space 220 a restaurant where you board a platform that takes you to a space station 220 miles high above the Earth. View-ports give a real-time journey experience and perspective as to travel high above the Earth. This will be opened in late 2020 early or 2021 and will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group.
The Play Pavilion will be open in time for the 50th-anniversary celebrations and will feature an interactive city bursting with games, activities, and experiences. You will even have the chance to help legendary Edna Mode on her quest to rid the world of uninspired style; or have a competition water balloon fight with Huey, Louie, Dewey, and Webby.
Another brilliant idea is going to be in Hollywood Studios at Galaxy’s Edge, wherein in 2021 you will be able to take a 2 day trip on a Galactic Starcruiser. Yes, I said that “A TWO DAY EXCURSION ON A STAR CRUISER” WOW! Starting at the Launch pod to check-in and blast off to rendezvous with the ‘Halcyon’ a glamorous star cruiser known for its exotic expeditions. At its center is the ‘Atrium’ a place for crew and guests to gather. There’s even a bridge for you to operate the navigation and defense systems with the crew. There are some amazing things to do while on your cruise, like wielding a Light-saber, discovering the inner workings of the Engineering room, relax and take a drink in the warm and inviting ‘Silver C Lounge’ and of course each cabin is well equipped and feature a window into space with views of spectacular ships and other galactic sights.

Along with all the new stuff in the parks there comes a new Digital offering that will help you transform your visit into one that is more personal to you. The ‘Disney Genie’ will give you information dedicated to your trip and how to get the most out of it, giving you up-to-date times and ride information suited to you and your family. You can theme your day to a princess day or a food day or anything to be fair. It looks like it’s going to really be a must-have digital assistant for anyone from a first-timer to a seasoned pro.
